About

THE RIVER LI

There’s a special kind of magic when families sing together — and sister duo The River Li captures every bit of that magic with their sublime, soul-lifting harmonies.

Growing up in the breathtaking, World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, Aurora Li and her younger sister Rivva have spent their lives surrounded by a beauty that has shaped their evocative sound.

With Aurora recently graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Rivva not long out of high school, the pair already have a string of career highlights to their name.

Their journey has seen them perform on one of the country’s most iconic stages — the Sydney Opera House for the Pulse Alive Festival (with their former band Breathing Underwater) — as well as at beloved regional festivals such as Bello Winter Music, Illawarra Folk Festival, St Albans Folk Festival, and the Blue Mountains Music Festival.

Now performing as The River Li, the sisters are currently recording their debut EP with acclaimed producer Philippe-Marc Anquetil. Their set list blends their nuanced and melody-driven originals with an occasional interpretation of their favourite indie pop, folk, and alt-country tracks.

At times exuberant and dynamic, and at others tender and heartbreaking, The River Li are fast earning a reputation for their intimate and expressive performances and their unmistakable “blood harmonies.” With a sound that’s as natural as the landscape that inspires them, and as rich as the passions that drive them, The River Li invite listeners to tune in, breathe, and be moved.
